Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire national park
You will be met by your safari driver guide at your hotel in Arusha and then drive to Tarangire national park on a 2-hour scenic journey through the countryside. Embark on a game drive in one of the biggest national parks in Tanzania known for its gigantic baobab trees and huge herds of elephants that can easily be seen around the park among other animals like zebras, buffalos, giraffes, wildebeests, hippos, lions, hyenas and different bird species. Explore areas near the Tarangire River for more wildlife viewings. Later in the evening, drive to your lodge for the night.
Day 2: To Lake Manyara national park
Early morning transfer to Lake Manyara national park, largely covered by the soda lake, Lake Manyara from which it was named after. The lake is a breeding ground for lesser flamingos, so expect to see these pink birds and other water birds while on a game drive in this beautiful park among other animals including lions, wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, elephants, buffalos, baboons and more.
Day 3-4: To Serengeti national park
We dedicate these 2 days to exploring the most popular national park in Tanzania, Serengeti national park. The vast grassland and savannah plains of Serengeti national park teem with various animal and bird species. Including lions, wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, elephants, buffalos, olive baboons, rhinos and more. Mostly visited to witness the annual wildebeest migration. Serengeti is atop tourist destination in the whole of Tanzania and East Africa. You can opt to take on guided walking safaris / nature walks, birding safaris, community / cultural tours and hot air balloon safaris while on your visit to Serengeti.
Day 5: To Karatu – Guided Coffee walk
After one more game drive in the Serengeti. Exit the park driving further South to the highlands of Ngorongoro through the scenic Ngorongoro conservation area. Get to taste the aromatic coffee and buy some to take home with you if you wish.
Day 6: To Ngorongoro conservation area – Crater drive
After breakfast at your lodge in Karatu. You will drive to Ngorongoro conservation area for a guided game drive. Its at the floor of the unspoiled world’s largest caldera, Ngorongoro crater. Home to approximately 30,000 animals and over 400 bird species, your game drive will be a rewarding one. Expect to see the Big 5 among other animals that traverse the crater floor. Picnic lunch and overnight back at your lodge in Karatu.
Day 7: End of safari
After your breakfast, you will drive back to Arusha and your safari guide will drop you at the airport.
